According to the comedian talk show host, Ellen DeGeneres, technology is slowly killing us. The advnancements we have made up to todays day and age are making the population lack all demands of physical activity. Some examples are microwaves. If you can put something frozen in an object and have it come out fully cooked in three minutes, chances are its from hell! Also, breath mints have been uprgraded to breath strips, and yogurt comes in the form of gogurt. Full course meals are now stuffed into one object called the powerbar! The packages of brand new CD's come in government plastic, nothing a civilian can open nor buy. Bateries are also manufactured as if companies dont want people to open them. Toilet paper in public bathrooms might as well be non-existent because it come packaged so sheer. The biggest technological advancement that is ruining our society is cell phones. They are EVERYWHERE. Always going off during conversations, meetings, movies, etc. There is bad reception, no call waiting, and you have to stick your finger in your ear to partially hear someone talking. The best part about cell phones is that they have advanced to no-hand cell phones. People. If you need both hands to do something, you should probably use your brain to.
I fullly agree with DeGeneres. I hate technology with a passion, even though it makes life very easy.

Entertainment
The former child-prodigy violinist, Joshua Bell, perfomed an experiment where he performed several pieces standing against a wall outside the Metro. He didnt play popuar tunes, rather he performed pieces that endured centuries on their brilliance and soared through cathedrals and concert halls. Performing through busy city streets while commuters were passing by. Do they stop? Do they keep walking? Or do they just pass by and pretend they dont hear him? In the busy city life I would have to say that I would keep walking by. As much as I would like to stop and listen to the wonderful music, Id have to keep walking due to the hectic society we live in.

Power Point Presentation
So, Mondays class was a little interesting. My group had the topic of editing and revision, whats the difference? Well, we had to revise our whole powerpoint for todays class. We made changes to the structure, the grammar, and added numerous slides of examples of both editing and revision. Everyone in our group has participated very well and added a lot of info for our powerpoint presentation. I hope we dont mess up on Wednesday!!

Updated project
After doing some observations of the pope hall study room, I have come to a conclusion that there is not much interaction at all. People go there to study and do work, which is what they do. They do not interact with one another or play music because its supposed to be quiet in that room. I have decided to observe the Tilly cafeteria instead. I went there after class today and noticed that people who go to lunch alone, tend to not look around. They just eat and stare straight ahead. Its kind of strange, because after noticing that, I realized I do it too. Tilly has a lot of students that I can observe for this project which is very helpful.
Jon Stewart
Considering I had 12 blogs going, haha here is my new POST on the same BLOG. Glad I know the difference now :)
So when I graduated highschool the valedictorian, Jason Vancura, gave a wonderful speech about friendships made, and memories that occurred, and events that everyone could relate to. His speech was cute, brought some tears to several students, and a few chuckles to many more, but overall it was a speech well done. O the contrary, I felt that Jon Stweart's commencement speech to the class of 2004 was just flat out sarcastic. I was not sure I should laugh or feel offended by his rude remarks and comments. If I was a student listening to the speech he had created, I would be very dissapointed.

Communities on campus
For this second project, I would like to observe the residents of Pope hall on the second floor. There is a prefect common room that looks into a quiet room that has four chairs. I wiould be able to sit in the common room and observe the students in the quiet room. See if they interact with other students in there or if they just keep to themselves.
